Albert Fouquet was an aristocratic Parisian who created perfumes exclusively for his own personal use and for the people who were dearest to him. Each perfume was born from the memory of places or people with a distinctive character that fascinated him to the point of wanting to represent them through fragrances.
Champs de Provence was born as a gift from Fouquet to Alexander and Clare, a couple of Italian friends who owned a villa in Provence where they used to relax breathing the freshness of more than 1600 wild plants that bloomed every year in the countryside of this beautiful French region.
Every spring, Albert Fouquet went to Antibes, on the Cote d'Azur, to the home of Alessandro and Chiara to share with them the splendid spectacle of these flowers with wonderful colors and aromas. During one of his visits, while he praised one of the wines he produced with his own grapes, Alexander told him that his next diplomatic post would be in the Philippines. He loved his work that took him around the world but often, during these long stays abroad, he remembered with melancholy the beauty of Provence.
Thus, a few months later, when Alessandro and Chiara had settled in the Philippines, they received a beautiful gift from their dear friend. Albert Fouquet had transformed the freshness of the heady aromas released by the flowers and plants typical of Provence into a perfume. A lovely green bottle contained the magic of a unique, fresh and flowery fragrance: Champs de Provence.
