Amouage's Material is a paradox - through materiality, it evokes immateriality, teaching us to look beyond appearances and to realize that what matters is often invisible, an experience similar to being in a forest and seeing in the torrid shadows a multitude of textures and various shades of woods, leaves and bark. All that merges into one thing.

The opening of Material shines under the angelic aura of Incense and Elemi, which together rise in waves of light, with their citrusy momentum that transforms the Vanilla Absolute material into a sacred balm. With a bright and golden hue, they announce the entry of Benzoin by merging into a blanket of Tonka Bean, which covers a tiare-like Vanilla like a mantle before falling into a crackling pyre of dry woods. The amber shades of Labdanum, the cocoa-rich humidity of Patchouli and the animalic strength of Oud highlight the dark side of their Queen, yet it is the light that prevails through the honey-apricot pulp of a soft Osmanthus immersed in a tub of White Musks that sign the finale, bringing Vanilla to a celestial kingdom.
